Biogas

Biogas-specific costs are currently determined according to the rules outlined in the CoA, considering, in particular, those in § 3 item 1 letter d of the current version of the Cooperation Agreement between Gas Supply Networks in Germany (CoA). The cost distribution mechanism for biogas feed-in costs described in § 7 CoA follows the arrangements provided in the internal order. According to § 20b of the German gas network fee table (GasNEV), all costs incurred in connection with the feed-in of biogas form the basis for the biogas cost distribution.

The specific biogas-related distribution amount is added as a surcharge to the network fees at the exit points; interconnections to storage facilities and border crossings are not taken into account, see § 7 item 7 CoA.

In accordance with § 7 of the Cooperation Agreement between Gas Supply Networks in Germany (CoA), network operators distribute the costs related to the injection of biogas into their networks among all networks in the market area. As a market-area wide operator, Nowega publishes the current figures for the calculation of biogas cost distribution in the Trading Hub Europe market area and the historic figures of biogas cost distribution for the GASPOOL and L-Gas 1 market area.
