Our Projects in the Münsterland Region

Projects Bad Bentheim – Legden; Heek – Epe

In the section from Bad Bentheim to Legden in the district of Borken, the existing pipeline has been converted for the transport of hydrogen, forming an important link between the Emsland region and the Ruhr area. Partners in this project are OGE and Nowega, each holding a 50 percent share.

The newly constructed HEp pipeline runs between Heek and Epe in the district of Borken. It connects the underground cavern field in Epe, where a hydrogen storage facility is being built, to the hydrogen core network. OGE and Nowega are also each 50 percent partners in this project.

Both measures are part of the IPCEI project GET H2 Nucleus and are ready for operation.

Project Legden – Dorsten

The pipeline to be converted for hydrogen transport runs from Legden in the district of Borken to Dorsten in the district of Recklinghausen. This north-south connection will link the Ruhr area to hydrogen production facilities in the Emsland region, among others.

Partners in this conversion are OGE and Nowega, each holding a 50 percent share. The measure is part of the IPCEI project GET H2 Nucleus.

Project Dorsten – Marl

As part of the IPCEI-funded GET H2 Nucleus project, the new hydrogen pipeline DoMa is being constructed from Dorsten to Marl (district of Recklinghausen). This creates a connection from the north-south pipelines running from the Emsland region into the Ruhr area to hydrogen consumers at the Marl Chemical Park. The pipeline received its planning approval in 2025 and construction has begun.

Partners in this project are OGE and Nowega, each holding a 50 percent share.
